Gisenia L. Reyes is the Founder of We Care Chemo Kits, a Miami-based cancer foundation, which delivers care packages to cancer patients and host special events at local hospitals. In October 2015, she was diagnosed with an aggressive type of blood cancer called “Acute Myeloid Leukemia.” After successfully undergoing a syngeneic stem cell transplant wherein her twin sister, Lucy, served as a donor, she is now cancer free. Gisenia started visiting other cancer patients with her homemade chemo kits to help brighten their day. What started off as an act of kindness, quickly spurred others to join in the We Care movement. Gisenia believes each day is an opportunity to share the love of Christ and help others find sunshine in the midst of their storm.
Gisenia is a graduate from the prestigious University of Miami with a certificate in paralegal studies and has a degree in Mass Communications. She is an advocate for the underprivileged, mental health, and cancer affected community. She aspires to be a published New York Times bestselling author, Ted Talk speaker, and leader of a global women’s ministry.
